A photo of several Grand Rapids firefighters giving CPR to a dog has gone viral. The dog was rescued from a house fire on Tuesday morning but had inhaled smoke. A group formed around the firefighters as they attempted to save the dog and everyone cheered when its tail began to wag and it began to breathe on its own.
A bystander photographed the rescue and shared it on Facebook.
“It was just an opportunity to post just another day in the life of a first responder,” the photographer said.
