Gas prices were surprisingly low in Grand Rapids over the labor day weekend and they are still dropping. The Grand Rapids $2.39 gas price average Monday was the lowest Labor Day price since at least 2006, according to GasBuddy.com. Even more surprising in the fact that the price was $.14 lower than they were just a week ago. Fall could bring even lower prices with no significant price increases.
“Overall by fall we’ll get back under $2 on average eventually with some price hikes here and there, but they’ll be to lower and lower amounts when they do hike,” GasBuddy’s Patrick DeHaan said.
