The Michigan House and Senate approved the a plan to put $1.2 million toward road in the area each year. While not everyone is happy about the plan, Grand Rapids leaders say it is better than nothing.
“As with any compromise, it’s not perfect, but I’m glad to see a plan moving forward,” Mayor-elect Rosalynn Bliss said. “It is a step in the right direction and it’s much better than continuing to do nothing. “I do have concerns about where the $600 million in the general operating funds will come from and will begin to have conversations about that with our state legislators.”
