Attendance Continues to Grow

Grand Rapids holds what we call ‘Movies in the Park’ which has become summertime staple since its beginning in 2013. ‘Movies in the Park’ just released the event dates for the 2015 season which will occur at dusk two Fridays of each month. Attendance last year was the largest yet and partners Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGR) and Friends of Grand Rapids Parks see a continued growth in attendance.

Community conversation led to the beginnings of these events that people wanted to see downtown. These movies will be shown at the Ah-Nab-Awen Park with a backdrop of the downtown skyline. Movie goers bring their own blankets, beer or wine and food with free pre-movie activities until the High Definition movie is played on a 50 foot screen. What movies will be played this year will not be released until this spring. Sponsors, community partners and volunteers are being accepted for the 2015 season.
