It’s boating season in Michigan and while most boaters know how to drive their boats and conduct themselves safely, there are always a few people who get a little too rowdy or distracted and have to ruin things for everyone else. Boating accidents are common in Michigan and have become such a problem that the state has decided to create stricter boating laws.
Law enforcement officers hope the new laws will prevent accidents and warn boaters that they will be patrolling the lakes and rivers in Michigan and enforcing the laws. Most of these new laws center around drinking and boating, which is a big problem, especially on hot summer days and holiday weekends. Drinking and boating can not only cause those who are drinking to become injured, it can also harm other boaters.
