Nobody want to have smelly breath, especially when they are talking to or kissing someone. Bad breath can ruin a moment and your self esteem, and the worst part is that it can sneak up on you and seem to come out of nowhere. If you suffer from bad breath and want to avoid it, try these five simple tips.
Brush Often
Bad breath is caused by germs, food particles and bacteria that are found on your teeth, gums and tongue. The best way to get rid of bad breath is to get rid of the things that cause it. That means brushing often to remove the food particle and prevent the foul-smelling bacteria from growing.
Mouth Rinse
Sometimes brushing isn’t enough to get rid of germs and bacteria. Mouth rinse can help fight the germs and bacteria that cause bad breath and even leave behind a pleasant fragrance. You can find bottles of mouth rinse that are small enough to keep in your purse or pocket so you never have to worry about bad breath.
Clean Your Tongue
If you brush, floss and rinse often but still have bad breath, make sure you are cleaning your tongue. Your tongue can harbor the same bacteria and germs as your teeth and if you don’t remove them they can cause bad breath. When you brush your teeth, be sure to brush your tongue as well.
Drink Plenty Of Water
Water helps rinse away germs, food particles and bacteria and prevents more from growing. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water through the day to avoid bad breath.
Avoid Mints And Gum
You might think that mints and gum can cure your bad breath, but the truth is they only mask it. Since gum and mints contain a lot of sugar, they can actually make your bad breath worse by attracting bacteria.
