Many people fear the dentist and have a hard time going to their appointments and caring for their teeth. While it can be hard to overcome such fears, cognitive therapy may be able to help. “Our study shows that after on average five CBT sessions, most people can go on to be treated by the dentist without the need to be sedated,” said one researcher.
