Saliva help keep teeth and gums clean and helps make food easier to swallow. It’s hard to imagine not having any saliva, but some people do not have adequate saliva because their salivary glands stop working properly. When this happens, teeth and gums can suffer and are more susceptible to decay and damage.
There are some medications that can help a person produce saliva, but a recent study shows that silk structure could help regenerate salivary glands so that saliva can be produced naturally again.
