The tooth fairy often visits children and takes their teeth while leaving them behind a coin or another treasure. Of course, the tooth fairy doesn’t visit every child and is more common in some cultures than others. Several undergraduate students from Charles Sturt University are visiting Cambodia and bringing a surprise to the children living in orphanages there.

The gifts they are bringing are more than money and small trinkets, they could be life changing.

“Many of the children in the orphanage are disabled which is why they were abandoned,” Dr McLennan said. “We will be helping children who have problems associated with cleft palates, and will be doing extractions and restorative work,” he said.
